Welcome to PiWalletSV Pro
Your air-gapped Bitcoin SV cold wallet —
keys on the Pi, chain on your phone.
Thank you for supporting an open, non-custodial signer built from
off-the-shelf parts you can inspect and replace.
This little computer holds your signing keys and never
connects to Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, or Ethernet. Your phone or
laptop runs the companion app to watch the chain and build
transactions — the Pi only signs what you approve on its touch screen.

Be patient at boot
Power-on takes under 30 seconds before the logo
appears — the screen may stay dark while the system starts.
Don't unplug it; let it finish.
🖥
Pi 3 + touch screen
Your Pro uses a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B and a
3.5 inch touch screen. Tap instead of a joystick,
type seed words on an on-screen keyboard, and show your whole
xpub in one QR code. Same firmware and seeds as the Zero kit.
🔑
You are the backup
Write your 12- or 24-word seed phrase on paper or steel.
No company can recover lost seeds or PINs. Your funds always remain
recoverable in any BIP39 wallet — PiWalletSV is not required.
Beta software — read before funding
PiWalletSV software is beta. It is fully functional with no currently
known issues. Bugs will be fixed and released; all notices are posted
on @PiWalletSV (x.com/PiWalletSV).
There is no warranty and no custodial recovery service.
The screen shows a disclaimer on first boot; the full
text is at piwalletsv.com/disclaimer
Before you fund — verify the microSD (strongly recommended)
Kits are boot-tested before shipment, so the card no longer byte-matches the pristine
image checksum. Proper cold-wallet practice: verify the signed download on
GitHub Releases and re-flash before creating a wallet or receiving funds.
First boot on the touch screen
Plug the included power adapter into the Pi’s micro-USB power port (long edge, next to HDMI), then wait up to 30 seconds for the logo.
- Disclaimer — read it; press and hold Hold to accept.
- Vault PIN — 6 digits on the keypad.
- Your first wallet — tap Add (or Restore); write every seed word offline. Keys stay on the device.
- Airgap check — Settings → Maintenance → Airgap status.
- Pair companion — open app.piwalletsv.com; on the Pi, tap your wallet → Show xpub (QR) and scan it (watch-only; never the seed).
Too many wrong PINs in a row wipe the vault on the device.
The keypad shows how many tries are left. Your seed phrase is the real backup — not the PIN, not support.
Touch & daily use
- Tap to choose · Back / Cancel at the top right
- Hold a finger ~5 s on the boot logo — factory diagnostics
- Home screen: Add · Restore · Settings across the top, wallets below
- Receive — tap wallet → Show deposit address; compare with the companion for large amounts.
- Send — companion builds tx → tap wallet → Sign transaction → camera scans QR → review → tap Sign → companion broadcasts.
- Backup / upgrade — USB stick in any USB port (no adapter needed) → Settings → Maintenance → USB backup, or restore from written seed.
Swap or re-flash microSD
Export vault to a USB stick or confirm you have your seed phrase(s) before re-flashing.
Tweezers shortcut (recommended for re-imaging)
Power off. Pull the microSD with a thin pair of tweezers through the case slot (end opposite the USB ports) — no disassembly. Re-flash on your computer, then reinsert the same way.
Full service (hardware repair / if tweezers won’t reach):
- Power off — unplug and wait a few seconds.
- Screws — remove the four screws on the back of the case.
- Lift out — the screen is the lid; carefully wiggle the screen and Pi out together. Don’t force it. The camera stays in the case on its ribbon.
- microSD — pull straight out (no spring latch).
- Computer — USB reader; verify and re-flash from GitHub Releases.
- Reassemble — card → screen and Pi into the case → four screws, snug only (the screen is glass).
Assembly
Your kit ships fully assembled. Use these only if you took it apart.
- Pi off. Seat the screen on the 40-pin header, straight and fully down.
- Camera ribbon → CSI (latch open → insert → latch closed).
- Insert the microSD (label side as printed on the Pi).
- Power into the micro-USB port only.
Ports
Micro-USB — power only (included adapter).
USB (four on the end) — optional USB stick for vault backup; or restore from seed on the screen.
Ethernet, HDMI, audio — leave empty.
